Naturopath for Acne in Perth

The root causes I look at

Rather than focusing on the surface alone, I look at what might be driving your skin. As a naturopath for acne, I consider:

• Hormones and where you are in your cycle

• Gut health and digestion

• Blood sugar and diet

• Stress and sleep

• Inflammation

Often it’s a combination, and untangling which factors matter most for you is where a tailored approach earns its keep.

Getting to the root cause with functional testing

Guesswork is slow, so where it’s useful I like to see what’s actually going on. DUTCH hormonal testing can highlight hormonal drivers behind breakouts, and gut microbiome testing can shed light on the gut-skin connection. If something like PCOS is part of your picture, we factor that in too.

If you’ve tried every cleanser, cut out the foods the internet told you to, and still find yourself covering breakouts, acne can start to feel like a losing battle… and it takes a real toll on how you feel about yourself. Here’s the thing: acne is rarely just a skin problem. It’s often a sign of something happening on the inside.

I am Ashleigh, a naturopath in Perth, and I help people get to the root of their acne with a food-first, evidence-based approach rather than another surface-level fix.

Acne is more than skin deep

Acne isn’t a hygiene problem, and it’s not only a teenage one. Plenty of the people I see are adults, and many have dealt with it on and off for years. Your skin is often a window into what is going on elsewhere in your body, from your hormones to your gut to how you are handling stress. That’s why two people with the same breakouts can need very different support. The spots are the visible part, but the story underneath is individual.

A food-first approach to clearer skin

Food is central to how I support skin. We look at how you are eating and how it may be feeding into your breakouts, then build a way of eating that supports your skin from the inside out. Around that sit the other pillars - stress, sleep, movement and gut health, since the gut and skin are closely linked.

Where it helps, I use targeted nutritional and herbal support, always chosen for you and always alongside any care from your GP or dermatologist (I’ll never tell you to stop a prescribed treatment).

What to expect working with me

I see clients across Perth (including Fremantle) in person and online. Skin takes time and I will be honest with you about that - this is a considered, patient approach, not an overnight promise.
