Naturopath for Menopause in Perth
The symptoms you’ve been told to just live with
Menopause itself is a single point on the calendar - 12 months after your last period - but the shift around it can stretch across years. Perimenopause often begins in your early to mid 40s, and that’s where many of the changes start.
Common experiences include:
• Hot flushes and night sweats
• Broken sleep and daytime fatigue
• Mood swings, anxiety or a shorter fuse than usual
• Brain fog and trouble finding your words
• Weight gain, particularly around the middle
• Lower libido and vaginal dryness
• New aches, headaches or changes in your skin and hair
No two women get the same combination, and none of it means you’re simply "getting older" and have to put up with it. Your symptoms are information about what your body needs right now.
Getting to the root cause with functional testing
Guesswork is slow and frustrating, so I would rather see what’s actually happening for you. Functional testing lets us do that.
DUTCH hormonal testing gives a detailed picture of your hormones and how your body is processing them, while gut microbiome testing can show how your digestion and oestrogen metabolism are tracking - the two are more connected than most people realise. With that information, your plan is built around your body rather than a generic checklist.
If you’ve been waking at 3am drenched in sweat, snapping at the people you love, and watching your waistband tighten no matter what you do, menopause has probably arrived - and it can feel like your body stopped consulting you about the changes.
I want you to know two things. This transition is completely natural, and the symptoms that come with it are real, common and worth taking seriously. I am Ashleigh, a naturopath in Perth with a separate background in nutrition, and I help women move through menopause feeling steadier, clearer and more like themselves, with food and evidence guiding every decision.
My food-first approach to menopause
Rather than reaching for a single fix, I look at the whole picture of your health, because menopause touches your hormones, your metabolism, your gut, your mood and your sleep all at once.
That starts with food. The right balance of protein, fibre, healthy fats and slow-release carbohydrates can steady your blood sugar and take some pressure off your changing hormones. From there, we work through the other pillars that shape how you feel: stress and how you carry it, the quality of your sleep, movement that protects muscle and bone, time outdoors, and the people around you.
Where it helps, I use targeted nutritional and herbal support, always chosen for you and always alongside your GP - never as a replacement for medical care or any hormone therapy you’ve been prescribed. My role is to help your body do what it’s already trying to do, with fewer rough edges along the way.
What working with me looks like
I am based in Perth and see women from Subiaco to Fremantle, the inner suburbs and everywhere in-between, both in person and online. Our first consultation is unhurried, because I want the full story of your health, not just a symptom list. From there you get a clear, realistic plan you can actually fit into your life, and we adjust it together as you go. You’re also welcome to explore the other areas I work in, including PMS and fertility changes, which often overlap with the hormonal shifts of this stage.

Frequently Asked Questions About Menopause and Naturopathy
-
I support women with the day-to-day impact of menopause - sleep, energy, mood, digestion and diet - using food, lifestyle and evidence-based natural support tailored to you. This is education and support, not a diagnosis or a cure.
-
Not at all, and I would never advise you to change or stop prescribed medication or hormone therapy. That’s a conversation for you and your doctor. I work alongside your medical care, not against it.
